Barrel so short thought she was going to shoot her finger off with the first shot

261

u/Kasaurus96 14d ago

This was a much tamer video than the other one that was on the front page earlier of the guy who shot straight through his hand...was waiting for something like that to happen, but was amused by the "uhhhaaa" at the end.

51

u/Yasin3112 13d ago edited 13d ago

Ah the arab dude who completely obliterated his hand in front of his family while trying to show off his gun? Yeah I‘ve seen that lol

We call that a booby trap

55

u/BustinArant 13d ago

I once said that because a bra was hanging on a doorknob and nobody laughed. Something like "Your backdoor is booby trapped" when I was there to help mow or something.

36

u/Aquahouse 13d ago

That's actually hilarious your friends don't have any humor

"show off" I know that's what she's attempting to do but it's so obvious she has no clue what the hell she's doing. Hands shaking like a geriatric with a pretty lightweight gun, has trouble cocking it, and the gun nearly flew out of her hands on the first shot

Edit: alright people I get it, derringer is only effective in very close proximity. No need to reply telling me that, about 50 other people already have. I was just referencing the fact that she mimicked blowing the smoke off the barrel like she was hot shit, when it didn’t look like she hit anything.

Or like that time you're issued what look like cool ear plugs, but they didn't actually work.

Doing construction work and shooting big guns are a bad combination as well. Ever stand next to someone shooting an AT-4, at what you think is a good distance without wearing your ear pro? You're never far enough I learned.

9

u/Potato-Demon 14d ago

I usually double up, earplugs and muffs

14

u/DefNotMyNSFWLogin 14d ago edited 14d ago

Yeah, I'll admit when I was going through combat school at 19, I wasn't that worried about all that non-sense.

I would use my vest to prop up nicely in the bleachers in-between shooting, and be able to sleep through 40 m4's shooting at once with no protection. Gotta be able to be hear when it's your turn to shoot again haha.

Luckily my tinnitus is pretty moderate.

104

u/Corsavis 14d ago

Always makes me laugh in movies when someone pulls out a .44 or .357 or something, indoors, blams a couple dudes in the elevator, and walks out without blood pouring from their ears

"We've gotta run!"

WAT?

32

u/Keudn883 14d ago

Nah, the best is this clip from that Doomsday Prepper show which was full of nothing but lunatics. These guys fire high powered rifles in a confined space and hilarity ensues:

https://youtu.be/wHOog45llUU?t=60

Best part of this show is how many of these preppers believed in crazy end of world scenarios but only like one or two of them were focused on an actual pandemic.

17

u/TOYPAJ_Yellow_15 14d ago

Actual smart preppers would never go on a show like that anyway though, is kind of the issue.

Like, preppers typically don't advertise or ever show off that they ARE preppers. Most of their friends and family don't even know. These guys are idiots AND vain, like congrats if SHTF everyone who watches the show knows where you are.

I'm not a prepper per-se, I'm prepared but not OCD levels. I've got a box of candles, some ceramic armor and soft armor, and a reserve 48pk of toilet paper and two 32pks of water. I keep two bags of dog food ready for my pups and that's it. I'm willing to bet most people would be fine for a week.

Plus, for these guys, if you're going to LARP as a fucking survivalist you'd think the gym would be a part of that too. These guys are just side-mission loot drops if things actually capped off lmao

15

u/MatureUsername69 14d ago

I'm dying at your prep stash being candles, armor, toilet paper, and dog food. "What about the stuff you need to live?" "That's what the armor is for"

4

u/Mikeisright 13d ago

To their credit, every dog owner knows they themselves would be fine with missing a few meals, but mutiny would ensue if your dog's bowl was empty for more than a few hours after their scheduled feed time lol

So much wrong.

The barrel is pointing at her gut/chest when it's 'holstered'. Insufficient ear protection. Flagging other people around her.

What an absolute menace.

297

u/mnbvcxz123 14d ago

What does flagging mean?

800

u/AageKush 14d ago

Pointing the barrel at someone.

A very important safety precaution.

She's clearly a novice, because most people at a gun range will give you an earful you'll never forget if you flag them. Which is perfectly reasonable.

241

u/Affectionate_Pizza29 14d ago

Can’t get an earful if you lost your hearing from no ear protection 🤷🏼‍♂️

109

u/mac102250 14d ago

Ah man I spent a young adulthood shooting shotguns with no hearing protection and now I get to enjoy tinnitus in one ear for the rest of my life (the ear you shoulder your gun to is in an acoustic shadow, less damage). I wish my dad had taught me to use hearing protection. Guess why he's deaf as fuck? Yeah no hearing protection

80

u/GayAlienFarmer 14d ago

Man, I was raised upland bird hunting without ear protection. I finally realized at 24 that it was fucking stupid to not use hearing protection when hunting if you use it at a gun range.

The next year when I showed up with muffs, the "good ol' boys" I hunted with made fun of me and said I'd miss birds by not hearing them. I had the kind with mics that silence when you shoot and did just as well as anyone else.

The next year several of the other younger guys also had them.

I already have mild tinnitus, but now, my rule is if I wonder if I ought to use hearing protection, the answer is yes I should. Angle grinder, mower, tractor, nail gun, chop saw, even the impact screwdriver. I use earmuffs with all of them.

37

u/TheWeedBlazer 14d ago

Guns are crazy loud. Went to an indoor range with earplugs and muffs and even then my ears were ringing more than usual when I got home.

13

u/Spirit117 14d ago

It's especially bad indoors, shoot outdoors with a decent set of muffs or active noise canceling ones and you should be ok unless the dude next to you has a 50 cal with a brake on it.

Indoors is awful tho, I hate it.

11

u/possum_drugs 14d ago

smart. peer pressure like this stinks. tinnitus abso-fucking-lutely blows and combined with my love of shooting is one of the reasons im pissed that suppressors are so fucking annoying to acquire in the US - theyre literally PPE but the government treats them like they james bond assassin gear.

always wear earpro, tinnitus is forever and there have been studies that it can lead to dementia later in life. dont fuck around with your ears!

I had to do firearms training as part of basic training for the Navy. They called it "breaking blue" if you pointed your gun anywhere that wasn't down range and they would outright tackle you if you tried.

15

I did RSO duty in the military. I've put a few people on the ground for unsafe weapons handling. It wasn't an invitation, either.

10

u/Domestic_AA_Battery 14d ago

Such a massive issue. You should always always always treat a gun as if it's loaded. Even if you're 100% sure there's no bullet in the gun. It could be missing the internals and you should never aim it at anything you're not afraid of shooting. Because always doing it means that you're less likely to slip up. It's not about the gun magically getting a bullet in the chamber out of thin air. It's about not being comfortable aiming at things when you do have a bullet in the gun.

People don't seem to understand that and are far too careless with guns.

u/mnbvcxz123 14d ago

basically pointing the gun at other people

6

u/ABirdOfParadise 14d ago

another term would be muzzle sweeping, basically think of the end of your barrel shooting a continuous laser/light saber beam out of it and if you would hit them then you are doing it. Even general direction is obviously a big no no.

just keep it facing down range, and in this case make sure some idiot doesn't walk in front you and the firing line

Kinda like when I touched the end of a fizzled out sparkler when I was a kid, except I was a kid not an adult who should know better

u/justduett 14d ago

As that kid, you were probably still leaps and bounds more intelligent than this fool.

Interesting point is that if you look at the very last frame, after she removes the gun from her top, she points the gun ahead of her, opposite of downrange, towards the three people who were behind her. If there had been an accidental discharge, one of them could have easily gotten shot.

Hey, yutz! Guns aren't toys. They're for family protection, hunting dangerous or delicious animals, and keeping the King of England out of your face.

u/1whiteguy 14d ago

As a gun owner, I don’t understand how some people aren’t more frightened of what they can do. The entire point of them is to kill things

When you think you're so badass but it proves that you've never used a gun before

u/Data_shade 14d ago

Who the fuck gave this bitch a firearm? She broke every fucking rule of safety

She thought she was hot shit, but all she got was hot tit

u/thejayfred 14d ago

People are fucking stupid. It’s a gun not a fucking toy.

And put some ear protection in.

u/Used_Concentrate2079 14d ago

This whole situation stresses me out.

u/RunZealousideal3812 14d ago

This is just another reason why people argue against gun ownership… improper carry, poor handling, showboating, and obviously not savvy to the minor dangers or of gun handling safety.

6

u/izmaname 14d ago

The improper handling here scares me

6

u/WretchedRat 14d ago

Stupid people with guns. How comforting.

u/Hereiam_AKL 14d ago

Guns are deadly weapons that always should be treated reasonably and with respect.

Videos like this and the one with a pre-teen firing a handgund and throwing it away when the magazine is empty are the best proof that gun control is required, because frankly some people are too dumb to be trusted with handling a gun.

I'd say that the barrel pointing at her chin as she drew would be a bit more cause for concern than a hot barrel down her shirt!

5

u/luisanra 14d ago

Jesus Christ it's painful watching people have so little gun safety.

5

u/Homesteader86 14d ago

What range would allow this bullshit?

4

u/Educational_Dog7430 14d ago

Ooooo self burn, those are rare

6

u/Cal1V1k1ng 14d ago

Holy shit she needs to be kicked off that range and only given a water pistol....

10

u/t_bags4evr 14d ago

Hot AF…the gun that is…

5

u/Tikkinger 14d ago

Deserved

u/DaRiddler70 14d ago

I'm beyond a badass and right into dumdass status.

u/werodactyl 14d ago

What made her think she could hit anything beyond 8ft with that short ass barrel? And for those asking it looks like a bond arms 38 special over under
