Also, this is a humor subreddit. Chill out. Literally nothing online is worth getting angry over. If there is something worth getting angry over, cussing out a twelve year old on the internet is not gonna solve the problem my dude.

“I was let go from my youth pastor job under mysterious circumstances.”

34

u/knowledgeable_diablo 14d ago

Wouldn’t it be “transferred” from the youth pastor position and “chose not to ruin my life by changing the location of my career” - seeing as very few “mysterious circumstances” lead to a termination in religious circles. Transferring them from one congregation into another seems to be what they think fixes all issues (other than the innocent underage lives they destroy and leave in a wreckage in the wake of their behaviour).

2

u/ABenevolentDespot 13d ago

Transferring them from one congregation into another seems to be what they think fixes all issues

You're thinking of the katholic church, an organization that has for hundreds of years made it part of 'god's plan' that their child molesting priests move smoothly from parish to parish.

Now that they are being forced by police and lawyers to out some of their worst offenders (and the list is not just long, it goes way up the ladder to cardinals), recruitment of potential priests from the pederast community is way down.

I mean, really, who wants to go through all that seminary crap to touch little boys with all those schools and playgrounds around that require no training at all?

ROMEO AND JULIET LAWS THANKS WHALBERG AND TRANSFORMERS WHAT A SHITTY THING TO THROW INTO A MOVIE

43

u/ArkamaZ 14d ago

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed how creepy this was. Don't forget the supposedly underage girls bent over the hoods of cars...

21

u/igordogsockpuppet 14d ago

Please elaborate and save me the trouble of looking up creepy/crappy movie clips.

41

u/ArkamaZ 14d ago

The Michael Bay movies have women who are supposed to be minors doing sexually suggestive shit and then in one of the later movies he has a character explain that it's okay for a twenty something character to date a minor because he was also a minor when they started dating in what felt like a lecture excusing pedophilia.

17

u/igordogsockpuppet 14d ago

Wow… and it’s not done for a laugh? We’re meant to empathize with this character?

33

u/fezzam 14d ago

The character thats the guy dating Mark Wahlberg’s character’s daughter carries in his coat a laminated card that just has the Romeo Juliet law on it, thus legally making it fine that he’s having sex the with the 16/17? Y/o girl.

And imma be honest I don’t remember what happened the rest of the movie because I was waiting for him to get his face punched in, and that never came to pass.

11

u/Sh3lls 14d ago

I remember all this when people tell me but unless someone says something all I remember is them trying to convince me the Chevy Sonic is cool and succeeding.

18

u/Motorsagmannen 14d ago

how about, just not writing in minors for those kind of roles?
blows my mind...

13

u/fezzam 14d ago

I tried really hard to come up with a super sarcastic response that technically answered that question but yea I have no idea.

6

u/RealZordan 14d ago

7

u/Either-Percentage-78 14d ago

I made the terrible mistake of turning on 'That's My Boy' yesterday. It makes transformers look like feminist propaganda. So disgusting.

9

u/Excellent_Salary_767 14d ago

Why was so much time dedicated to that? Idk which is worse, that it was there at all or that there was so much of it

27

u/Djsimba25 14d ago

I mean they're 3 years apart in the movie it's not really a huge age gap. That law is so upset dad's can't charge boyfriends with a sexual predator charge and have them labeled as a child molester their entire lives. It saved me. I turned 18 while I was dating a girl in high school, we got caught fooling around and her dad gave me his lawyers number saying if I ever talk to his daughter again I would get taken to court for it. The way they portray it in the movie is kinda weird though.

32

u/AdminsAreLazyID10TS 14d ago

I have really bad allergies. Does anyone know how to turn meth back into Sudafed? Cuz it's easier to get meth.

7

u/Xszit 14d ago

The main ingredient of Sudafed comes from the ephedra plant, if you search around theres people selling seeds online. You could keep some around and make tea with it when you need to.

https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephedra_(plant)

(Pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know but medicinal plants are real, they just lobbied to make all the good ones illegal unless you happen to own a pill factory)

3

u/batfiend 14d ago

That's amazing, I had no idea ephedrine was naturally derived!

2

u/Xszit 14d ago edited 13d ago

Both ephedrine and pseudoephedrine come from the plant. People hear "pseudo" and think its synthetic made in a lab but they are both all natural.

Speed is from the earth, God put this here for me and you. Take advantage man, take advantage.

2

u/batfiend 14d ago

Fuck nature is awesome. The plant must use it as a kind of insecticide? Like caffeine and nicotine? So cool. I wish I could grow it here, I love medicinal plants.

4

u/NemesisRouge 14d ago

How do they know? Does your ID go on a database when you buy it or something? Meth isn't a thing where I live, my only knowledge of this is from Breaking Bad.

3

u/FurbyKingdom 14d ago

Correct. By the mid 2000s a database was created in the US to combat bulk pseudoephedrine purchases being made for the purpose of manufacturing meth. However, the vast majority of meth is now cooked using a process that no longer requires pseudoephedrine so the impact is limited.

I know how much Sudafed you can buy at one time also, and I have never made or used meth.

Sudafed happens to be an awesome decongestant for those of us that are allergic to everything. It sucks that I am probably on a government watch list because I like to be able to breathe.

9

u/Anniesoptera 14d ago

Seriously. My brother has to get his friends to buy it for him because it's the only thing that works, and his allergies are so bad that he goes through a ton of it.

10

u/MaineQat 14d ago

Sudafed doesn't treat allergies, though, it treats congestion - by reducing swelling of vessels in the nasal passage. Using it to treat allergies is just treating a secondary side effect. Allergies are caused by (usually) excess histamine release, which Sudafed doesn't affect.

If your brother hasn't yet, he might want to see an allergy-immunology doctor, or at a minimum look into trying the different modern (2nd generation) allergy medications. Try a few different ones - where some might not work for someone the others might. Find the right one, and he may find even greater relief.

That said, his problem might not actually be allergies but chronic vasomotor (nonallergic) rhinitis. There may be better treatments for it than Sudafed, though some of those involve corticosteroids.

4

u/mattyp92 14d ago

I fucking hate corticosteroids. The only good part of having a total colectomy is not having to take them or get my bi-monthly biologic infusion that I had a mild allergic reaction to. (Ulcerative Colitis)

3

u/autumn55femme 14d ago

The ones maine-quat was referring to are topical, intranasal sprays. Definitely not in the same category as systemically administered steroids. And not the same as an immune modulator. Glad you have found effective treatment, and are doing better.

4

u/Anniesoptera 14d ago

He takes Claritin too. Apparently he also needs to supplement. Poor guy lives in a very pollen-filled area

5

u/idiotic_melodrama 14d ago

Young people don’t know about the days before 24-hour allergy medicine. We did scratch tests and allergy shots that reduced our bodies reactions to allergens. We took Benadryl on bad days and fought to stay awake.

There’s way more options than just Claritin, even including other 24-hour allergy meds. Claritin does nothing for me, but Xyzal works great.

Maybe your brother should try, I don’t know, anything than the one and only thing he’s managed to discover in the 21st fucking century.

3

u/another_design 14d ago

And Zyrtec works the best for me, you’re 100% right he’s gotta try the other varieties

3

u/123456478965413846 14d ago

Yeah, if you take the 24 hour sudafed, you can buy exactly 3 boxes every 30 days, but of course no more than 1 box in a given day. So you buy a box every 10 days, and there are 10 pills in a box. Great, now what happens when the store is out of stock? You have to skip the medicine that lets you breathe until they get it back in stock since you can't ever buy even 1 extra pill.

So everyone who is dependent on the magic pills has someone buy them a box at some point so that they can have an emergency stash. It feels so sketchy buying basic medical care sometimes.

I howled in laughter.

It’s funny you say that, because, I had an uncle who became a texas ranger and his father was apparently apart of the kkk. (According to my cousins) I no longer speak to said uncle or that side of the family at all, considering I have a biracial daughter, but I have had this knowledge most of my life and it is burdensome. They originate out near Dallas, Tx last name chambless. He is no longer an officer (thank god) but it goes to show the kind of people who become them. If I had to take a wild guess I would assume they are trump supporters also.

He was a good man out in public yada-yada but behind closed doors he was not.

It's because out in the public, he has authority and can push consequences onto those that don't follow his direction or discretion. When he comes homes, he most likely expects the same sort of world in private. He expects everyone to look to him for his opinion and authority as the final say. Add on top the possibility of his personality relishing in thought of his job is to protect the public, therefore he's a hero, and his presence should just make others look to him as if he's a hero.

I have members in my family that are the exact same way, that gravitated towards this sort of work. And they are all the same in the public vs private. They are toxic, and they do the worse damage to keeping families together.

I mean, it's not that they're a specialist cop (postal inspectors are specialist cops, and they're among the least murderous least white supremacy enforcing cops!) It's that the history of the Texas rangers compares to the history of the SS, and not in all ways favorably.

2

u/cihmapoutlisce 13d ago

Weren't the Rangers started as Indian killers oops "Frontier counter guerrilla force"? Noah Feldman's "Our Broken Consitution" had some brutal quotes about how they handled business. Even Texas museums admit a problematic past. https://www.thestoryoftexas.com/discover/campfire-stories/texas-ranger Not really surprising that elements of that may have stuck around...

There's also a subteddit /til for sharing info you recently learned and think others might want to know.

It's pretty common on reddit for acronyms/shorthand to form for specific subreddits and then spread to others.

You also might see:
ITT - "In this tread" followed by a summary of the most common responses by users.
TLDR - "Too long, didn't read" followed by a shorter summary of a longer post. Used to be a criticism, but now gets used by writers who realize their post us very long.
/s - Used to indicate the previous text was intended as sarcasm. A reference to html coding.

You also see links to real and fake subreddits used as a response, indicating that something could be linked in that suggested sub. This is a meta joke about how ridiculously large and specific reddit is.

Dixiecrat Lives Matter!
Defund Desegregation!

3

u/Original-Copy101 14d ago

I would have more respect for them if they were just honest and had a nazi flag up.

All this “wink wink” bullshit insults my intelligence.

You hate minorities, say it proudly and deal with the consequences of your beliefs.

Racists can hide their ideals but other people can’t hide how they were born.

That’s the shit I don’t like.

u/IrredeemableJoke 14d ago

This flag contradicts itself

7

u/AngyQueer 14d ago

it's fucking alabama.

3

u/Brokeoutangel1 14d ago

Fixed it..... I deal oxy BECAUSE my brothers a cop.

3

u/Bull_Moose_Duce 14d ago

The only way this could be more of a loser is if they put a swastika in the center.

3

u/LAESanford 14d ago

So glad I don’t live in Alabama anymore

3

u/Gloverboy6 14d ago

Deal oxy? Are you sure they're not dealing meth?

2

u/KittenVicious 14d ago

“I married my sister”

3

u/TheEffinChamps 14d ago

It means, "I will help drive this country into the ground as fast as possible."

3

u/OperationThrift922 14d ago

“I probably have a history of domestic violence against my sister cousin who I’m married to”

3

u/CousinSkeeter89 14d ago

I'm ok with people flying their Confederate or Blue Line flags. It let's me know who the losers are.

3

u/Askin_MrBrooks 14d ago

Spanish Fort is actually a school for super rich parents to send their kids and let them fester together.

Their was a huge incident where a video of a bunch of students were purposely screaming out the hard R and I think they just got slapped on the wrist.

3

u/TopSign5504 14d ago

Confederate police will hang you.

9

u/curiousOwl007 14d ago

What is oxy?

27

u/TuckerCarlsonsOhface 14d ago

Opiates, specifically OxyContin (oxycodone).

10

u/Amazing_Rise9640 14d ago

Stay far away from it!

4

u/KoolWitaK 14d ago

Heroin in a pretty little pill. That's all you really need to know. Ignorance is bliss.

6

u/Just2LetYouKnow 14d ago

Pharmaceutical heroin in pill form.

Turns all your bad feelings into good feelings, but at the devil's price (if abused).

2

u/ungrundled 14d ago

And at the devil's discount until you decide to abuse it

I see so many different flags like this. I see another and think, "Now WTF is THAT supposed to mean?" They are becoming pointless. I mean, is that a pennant for some sports team I don't know about or some political statement no one understands? I have sort of come to the conclusion that they all mean "I am stupid, and proud of it!"

2

u/Stormtrooper775s 14d ago

I'm on top, but for only 4yrs

2

u/NeedsMoreBunGuns 14d ago

One line away from bobbies lives matter.

Eh I decided on bluebottle lives matter. Lol

2

u/GregTrompeLeMond 14d ago

Take you some Crayola markers and when they go inside color the stars the color of the 🌈 rainbow. They'll love their LGBT Thin Blue Line flag.

2

u/seanmuthafuckinontop 14d ago

Yes cops are losers

2

u/Call-of-Queerthulhu 14d ago

They're the same flag.

2

u/ungrundled 14d ago

Stonekettle always has fuckin' great takes. Guess that's what you get from a veteran who's also a writer, who also lives in the Florida panhandle

2

u/heraclitus33 14d ago

Dudes? Know where this gorgeous sammich maker be? # would be good too.

2

u/tossaroo 14d ago

2

Cops vs. Confederates? Funny cartoon images follow. Hey you treasonous fools, you lost...

2

u/Chopawamsic 14d ago

Of course Confederate Officer’s lives matter. Without them who am I going to shoot with my musket?

u/buahuash 14d ago

Slaver lives matter

2

u/Seldarin 14d ago

Oxy is too hard to get. They just straight up sell heroin now.

2

u/sportandscreenpod 14d ago

It’s merch from that show Our Flag Means Meth

2

u/Gjond 14d ago

I am surprised that the stars are not tiny punisher logos.

2

u/capchaos 14d ago

Good job. Design change now coming. /s

2

u/Roook36 14d ago

That a confederate flag adorned in the colors of the union. It's a flag for morons.

2

u/Cindyclawsbee 13d ago

I live there (not from there) and I honestly have seen more Confederate flags in rural PA and NJ than I have in Baldwin County, AL. Not saying this isn't real, or that there aren't a ton of thin blue line flags or Trump flags, but the Confederate flag down here really isn't the norm, just an FYI.

2

u/SimplifyAndAddCoffee 13d ago

I can do one even worse than that....

I saw this flag flying on a flag pole outside Salisbury NC.

I think it means "I support cops by being a lawless cop killing vigilante"

2

u/jprather44 13d ago

I read at the 3rd-grade level.
